Official Festival Launch

Saturday, October 3, 2026

From 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, Memramcook, New Brunswick - at Boulangerie Pain du Collège Wood Chef Bakery

Join us for the official launch of the Festival du PAIN et CIE / BREAD & CO Festival as well as the start of the 2026 Circuit du PAIN et CIE.

​

From October 3 to 17, our region will gather to celebrate bread, local products, and the bakers, artisans, farmers, producers, cafes, bistros, markets, and restaurants that enrich our communities.

Inspired by this year’s theme, "Tranche de vie – Slice of Life", the launch will mark the beginning of two weeks of gourmet discoveries, memorable encounters, and shared experiences.

​

The Festival will also support important community initiatives. Funds raised through the 2026 Circuit du PAIN et CIE will help support Feed Nourrir NB and its work fighting food insecurity in our Southeastern N.B. communities.

​

Come celebrate the start of this new tradition with us.

Workshops

Bread Dough Shaping Workshop

October 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
Domaine de la Vallée

This warm and practical workshop will allow participants to discover different techniques for shaping bread dough.

It will be an opportunity to get hands-on experience, exchange tips and tricks, share memories, and enjoy creating together around a tradition passed down from one generation to the next.

 

Bread is so much more than food. It is a shared memory, a living tradition, and a wonderful reason to gather.

Please note: This workshop is exclusively for residents of Domaine de la Vallée. Registration is not open to the general public.

Bread: A Tradition Passed Down

October 16, 2026 - Morning

École Abbey-Landry

Students at École Abbey-Landry will take part in a special learning experience exploring the heritage of Acadian bread.

​

Through stories, discoveries and baking knowledge, students will learn a few simple ingredients. Flour, water, yeast and salt, can become a delicious loaf filled with history and character.

​

Because bread is more than a recipe. It is a story, a tradition and an important part of our heritage.

​

Please note: This workshop is exclusively for students of École Abbey-Landry and is not open to the general public.​

The Heritage of Acadian Bread

Bread tells a story, a story of families, traditions, skills and shared experiences.​ In Acadian culture, bread holds a special place. It nourishes, brings people together and carries an important part of our heritage from one generation to the next.

​

Join guest speaker and facilitator Stéphanie Lagacé for a unique workshop exploring the heritage of Acadian bread.

​

Together, we will discover the techniques, ingredients, practices, stories and knowledge that have helped shape our baking traditions. We will explore how bread became part of everyday life for Acadian families and why these traditions deserve to be preserved and shared.

​

This workshop welcomes:

  • Professional and amateur bakers who want to share their knowledge and experiences

  • People interested in Acadian heritage, food and baking traditions

  • Members of the public who are curious and eager to learn

Come listen, learn, exchange ideas and help keep the heritage of Acadian bread alive for future generations.​

BREAD & CO Rendez-vous

The Rendez-vous PAINs et CIE / BREADs & CO Rendez-vous is a full day dedicated to bread, local knowledge, music and the people who bring our community to life.

​

Come discover, learn, taste, vote and share your passion for bread. Whether you are a baker, a home cook, a family, a curious visitor or simply someone who loves good food, this day is for you.

Arrive, explore and enjoy a warm welcome with background music.

From Grain to Flour

9:30 a.m.

Discover the fascinating journey from grain to flour during a workshop presented by the owners of Ferme Champdoré.

Sourdough Bread Workshop

10:30 a.m.

Curious about the secrets of sourdough? Co_Pain Artisan Bread Company will introduce the fundamentals and distinctive characteristics of this traditional bread-making method.

Mini-Concert

11:30 a.m.

Enjoy a musical performance by Sistema.

Musical Celebration

12:00 p.m.

Join us for a community celebration featuring Janine Boudreau, who will introduce and perform the Festival’s theme song, followed by a performance from Joanne-Lise LeBlanc Belliveau.

Janine Boudreau, singer-songwriter and daughter of Acadie, has always sung and written songs. She has shone on stage with big names, such as Laurence Jalbert, Luc De Larochelière, Yves Duteuil and so many others! She has won honours in several competitions and has walked the boards of major stages, including the Olympia in Paris! Her albums J'entends et Janine have made her shine among the stars of Acadia. On TV and radio, her voice has reasoned and continues to reason thanks to her new Chapitre F.L., which will be unforgettable for you. The time has come to reconnect with the stage! "So, I'm still singing. That's what I must do. That's why every chord." Singing about love: There is a better way to do it. By having moved Édith Butler and Luce Dufault, Janine was able to make the "Acadian" planet tremble with her voice. She will make it tremble again!

Chef Emmanuel from the Culinary Arts program at NBCC Moncton will demonstrate creative and delicious ways to transform stale bread.

Music and Community Time

Continue exploring, meeting participants and sharing discoveries in a festive atmosphere.

The day will conclude with a special thank-you to everyone who helped make the Rendez-vous a celebration of bread, culture and community.

FROM FARM TO BUTTER!

TRADE, CHURN & DISCOVER!

Join us for a fun and interactive experience at the PAINs et CIE BREADs & CO Rendez-vous, with a special visit from Moonique from Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick!

​

Participants will have the opportunity to milk Moonique, our artificial cow, and discover how cream is transformed into delicious butter during a hands-on butter-churning workshop!

 

An educational, fun and delicious activity for kids and adults alike!
